Isn't it gorgeous? It's a passion flower, a relative of the passion fruit. I found this vine growing on a fence in Berkeley on my walk to work from the BART station sometime in 2008, and became obsessed. I didn't know what it was, only that I'd never seen anything like it. One day I wandered into an amazing bookstore on my lunch break, and without any real sense of purpose I found myself in the gardening section. Serendipity struck: staring at me was a book with a display of limes and "my" flower on the cover! Fortunately, there was information about the photo inside and my quest for its name was over. Though totally different from how it got its name, this flower represents the passion I have for creating a full, balanced lifestyle.
2. Where do you live?
I live in Oakland, CA, just a skip across the Bay from San Francisco. This poor Town gets a bad rap, but it's really pretty awesome. Plus, it's the Sunny Side of the Bay!

3. How do I order something from you?
You can go straight to my shop here, and place your order directly. Generally you will receive your order in about a week. If you are not a Lifestyle Member and you want to place a small order while avoiding the $9.95 shipping charge, contact me and we may be able to work something out.
4. Are there any fees I need to know about?
Maybe. Miessence/ONEgroup is an Australian company, and while prices listed are in American dollars, orders placed through my shop are processed in Australian dollars (AUD). The transaction then needs to be converted to American dollars (USD). Some (okay, most) financial institutions charge a fee for handling this currency exchange, which typically ranges from 1-4%. On your first order, you may also get some sort of fraud protection alert if you don't often make international purchases, requiring you to verify the purchase. Again, it depends on your financial institution, but this should only happen once.
5. Is this a multi level marketing scam?
Yes and no. Miessence/ONEgroup is a multi level marketing company, but is certainly not a scam. It is real people with real products that are produced to the highest standards. There is no hard selling resulting in swindling people of their hard-earned money.
Miessence offers two opportunities: The opportunity to purchase gorgeous personal care products of highest quality at reasonable prices, and the opportunity to start your own business with affordable start-up costs. It does NOT offer the opportunity to get rich quick.
Starting your own business is not for everybody, though anybody can succeed if they put their minds to it. For me, I was already in the process of starting my own home-based organic skin care business and feeling very discouraged about the costs associated with it, so when I stumbled upon Miessence, I saw an opportunity to accomplish the goals I'd already set for myself at a reasonable cost. As a friend of mine pointed out: "If you're looking to go into business for yourself, there really isn't a cheaper way to do it." I am finding that to be true on many levels, but that doesn't mean it doesn't require work. Contact me for more information.
